Quarantine Hacks

We are so used to being "Quarantined" these days. The terms pandemic, quarantine, isolation, social distancing are used by everyone so often. It is of utmost importance to be optimistic, mentally healthy and physically fit. If we achieve these three things we will surely survive 2020 and would hit 2021 with a bang! Here are some Quarantine Hacks to make your life easier and help you get through

!Let's get started

1. Self-care is not selfish!

This is the best time to focus on yourself. You have nobody and nothing to distract. Don't set an alarm. You are not in a hurry. Listen to your body. Your body knows well how much sleep you require. Eat healthy. Make your own food at home. Be experimental. Give at least one hour to workout. Now you have all the time to think about yourself. Remember it is never selfish to think about yourself. If you can take good care of yourself only then you can create a better environment  for others. It is the ultimate way to give the world the best of you. Stop feeling guilty and relax in your own space.
In this way you will enhance self esteem and practice positive thinking. This will surely boost your productivity, thinking skills and energy. You will conquer all your weaknesses and complexes. Self care is one of the best but underrated survival techniques which we need the most in 2020.

2. Let's turn on the beast mode!

You wished for that bikini body, those carved abs and V-line last summer. You always wanted that flat belly and a sharp jawline. This is the most privileged time to work on your body and transform yourself. There is no harm in being a beginner. Take baby steps each day. You don’t require a luxurious gym with sauna and fancy equipment’s. Your body weight is enough to lift. There are a lot of affordable zoom classes and free apps to take help of. Remember not to try anything without proper help. Dress up for your session. Workout with a buddy will make your workouts more fun. It also motivates and help push harder when you have a partner.
It is not important how much time you give for workout but how regularly and correctly you perform every activity. Consistency is all that matters and will take you to your goal. They say you should feel comfortable in your own skin. But why not make that skin more beautiful. Take this opportunity and show the world your inner strength.

3. Know your roommates

Here I mean your family members. They are the ones you are spending the most of your precious time with. Spend quality time with them to blossom your relationship. Plan a nice “staycation”. Get ready in the morning, workout together, help each other in cooking, dress up and have lunch in your balcony or living room, watch your favourite show on Netflix, play home games like cards, jhenga, business, scrabble, share your opinions on different topics. Turn your living room into a discussion panel or just chat and hang out in your room like friends, make plans for after-lockdown. Each day will bring you joy and strengthen your relationships.

4. Learn a new skill or cultivate a new hobby

Take the charge and paint that wall corner, put on the dancing shoes and groove in your room, play karaoke with your family or try your luck and be a masterchef. Find out your skills and nourish them. Be creative and meditate through your innovation. Go for whatever makes you happy. It’s never late or too early to try something new. Painting, sketching, singing, dancing, learning a foreign language, practising yoga, writing, housekeeping, cooking, cleaning, gardening, baby sitting. We can do a lot at home. Think out of the box. Know your potential. Wake up your inner artist and lead the world!

5. Get organised!

You always dreamed of having a long vacation. You always wanted to slow down a bit and match the pace. Well, this is the time! Everything and specially the time is in your favour. Hold on to it and utilise this time to come back in action. Get organised. Arrange your routine in way that you will be never in a hurry later.
Arrange the closet, keep your stuff where they belong. Get habitual to it. You won’t lose time in finding the essentials. Once your everyday busy schedule starts you will be all ready for it.

This is the time we get back on track and grow. Yes we have to slow down but it is to gear up for the next level. 2020 is not a curse but one extra year added where we have all the privilege to stop and focus on ourselves. Enjoy it. Life is good.

We are a tribe!

We are born in this world without our consent. And we leave this world the same way. Does that happen with everyone? Is life so simple? May be yes, and may be not!

“ You only live once, but if you do it right, once is enough.” — Mae West

A human being is a social animal. Since Stone Age we have lived in a group. Do we know why nature has planned it this way for us? It must be because even if we can be physically strong but emotionally we are not capable of handling battles at our own. We need support, we need motivation, empathy.

It will be scary to roam around at 2am on the lonely dark streets. But the same time same place would be much more lively and cheerful when there are bunch of people with us. Even random people around would make us feel secure.

“Together we are birds with wings!”

To understand the importance of being together is the need of an hour. The word depression is used so frequently now a days. Those days are almost gone when people used to think that only the mentally retarded go to the doctor. Every 4 out of 10 are either taking depression pills or going through therapy. In this fast moving world some may not be able to match the pace. They may feel left out. At such low times is it allowed for them to take the decision to leave the world? Is suicide the only solution?

We have hell lot of goals in life to achieve. We are so into the competition that we try to do so many thing at once to win this rat race. Rather than being busy making money, trying to fulfil the materialistic wishes that we have, taking all the burden of people around us and striving to be number one all the time, we should have only one goal set for the life and that is “to be happy”.

Now the big question comes, what is to be happy? How would you define happiness? Literal meaning of happiness is feeling of pleasure or contentment. Now think when do you truly feel content. And when you think that be a little self focused, don’t think about the world. The definition of happiness can differ from person to person.

“Happiness is a direction, not a place” — Sydney J. Harris

Happiness is an emotion don’t find it in materialistic things. This emotion is already there inside you. You just need to wake that up and simply believe it. Then you will see that in everything, in every small thing, just like a baby! Observe a little baby. Learn from him how to appreciate small things. Just a splash of water or a bird chirping on the tree (which you as an adult would have ignored anyway) make a baby laugh and that smile is so infectious that all the people around would laugh along.

That’s how the life is! Appreciate each and everything around you, feel blessed to have your family and friends, value them. I would not say there are bad times, there is always a good time but we just feel low on some days. This is natural, you are not alone and don’t even dare to think that you are weak if you feel so. It happens with everyone. Just talk to your people, they are your own so don’t hesitate. Pour your heart out, it is also good to cry sometimes. We all make mistakes. It’s a part and parcel of life. Life goes on. Forgive yourself. Be kind. We together can survive. Once you understand the true meaning of happiness, winning and losing, success and failure would no more matter. These things would no more exist. You would feel happy in every phase of life and that’s how it should be!

Some people are blessed. They are always active living life happily. They have hardly seen low phases in life. But if you are one of these happy tribe, don’t forget that your loved ones may not be the same happy souls. They may need you and must be feeling shy to talk about it. So always try to be social. Being social doesn’t mean, being active on the social media. It means to be in touch of your own people. Catch up whenever possible, call up and listen to them. Ask them if they are fine. Be approachable. People should feel free to come to you and talk.

Nobody can lead a life alone. We have to stand up for each other. Be human, it’s high time!

Till then tschüß!

Who am I?

Have you ever wondered who you are?

It was near the window that rainy day, with a cup of hot steamy coffee in the evening. The birds were returning home, the world was slowing down, the sun had promised to rise tomorrow. I was not alone. I had my own company. You might call me an introvert but I sometimes love to be with myself. Of course a bunch of “my” people would always bring smile on my face though.

This habit of being in my own company has recently developed and now I have started knowing myself better. These “me talks” have always helped to learn new things, always give a boost to improve myself. Because nobody can know you better than yourself! You can criticise yourself without any hesitation and fake smiles and also appreciate with a big heart. There is always a room for improvement. In my case there is a mansion for improvement. I have a long way to go.

In my description you can read that I love to workout daily, I like to read books, am a traveller, and I  literally hog on food (especially on desserts). I know it sounds odd that a fitness freak has a sweet tooth but believe me it is more difficult to maintain balance. I will be sharing my journey with you and we can have a discussion room in the comments section! Also follow me on Instagram @strong.muffin

So try to spend some time with yourself. You will never find the better buddy to hang out with!

Till then Tschüß !!
